Griffin Wires VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital C.A.R.E. Building

HOLLISTON, MA — Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc. (Griffin Electric) has completed installation work on the VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital C.A.R.E. Building in South Hill, Virginia. The 67,000-square-foot, two-story medical office building is connected to the new VCU Health Community Memorial Replacement Hospital, a 166,000-square-foot project completed last summer, which Griffin Electric also assisted.
The Medical Services Center provides ample office space and features 52 exam rooms, an auditorium, X-Ray suite, as well as a cardiac and pulmonology rehabilitation center. The facility will provide Cardiology, Cardio & Pulmonary Rehab, Ear Nose & Throat (ENT), Urology, Pulmonology, Orthopedics, Family Care, and Dental services. The C.A.R.E. Building also includes 13,000 square feet of additional shell space for future fit-up.
Under the direction of Region Manager Marc McNair, the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, Griffin team was responsible for all electrical, telecommunication, and fire alarm systems on-site. Griffin Electric installed a new 2,000-amp service, an 80 kW generator, and sound masking and public address systems for the building.
The design-build project team for the VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital C.A.R.E. Building consisted of a construction manager, DPR Construction and architect, Price Simpson Harvey.
