DALLAS, TX — HDR is serving as owner's engineer for Invenergy's recently announced Samson Solar Energy Center, the largest solar project in U.S. history. Located in northeastern Texas, Samson Solar Energy Center is designed to produce 1,310 megawatts of power. The project will support three municipalities and provide clean, cost-effective energy to five large companies including McDonald's and Google.

“The Samson Solar Energy Center is the latest example of what can be achieved when companies and utilities seek an innovative partner to meet their sustainability goals and invest in a clean energy future,” said Ted Romaine, Senior Vice President of Origination at Invenergy.

Throughout the project's first phase HDR has served as a trusted advisor, integrating with Invenergy's team to review civil and structural engineering design.

“It's exciting to collaborate with Invenergy on this groundbreaking clean energy project,” said Alex Coologeorgen, HDR Project Manager. “We're focused on helping Invenergy achieve its forward-thinking goals by reinforcing a high quality, cost-effective design.”

When Samson Solar Energy Center is complete in 2023, it will produce enough energy to power nearly 300,000 homes. Phase one of the five-phase project is slated to begin operation in 2021.
