Henderson Named Facilities Division Manager at Power Engineers

BOISE, ID — POWER Engineers, Incorporated (POWER) names Derek Henderson the head of its Facilities division, succeeding retiring Division Manager John Gunst.
“Derek is an excellent engineer, a strong leader, and a consummate team player,” said Holger Peller, POWER's Chief Operating Officer. “We're looking forward to continuing to build success for our food and beverage, agribusiness, industrial and chemical, and other related clients under Derek's leadership.”
Henderson, who is based in Boise, joined POWER in 2012 as a Project Manager in POWER's Manchester, U.K. office. As an experienced Mechanical Engineer, he came to the POWER team with a solid background in the food and beverage and related industries in the U.K., Europe, and South Africa.
Henderson owned and operated a fabrication business before coming to POWER and invented and patented an innovative food process sanitation technology. He has led projects ranging from raw materials intake and production processes to greenfield sites and existing facilities renovations.
Prior to becoming Division Manager, Henderson served as Department Manager of the Facilities Mechanical group. He is also the Facilities representative on several of POWER's special focus groups, including one dedicated to distributed energy resources.
“I'm grateful for and humbled by the opportunity to lead this division,” Henderson said.
Henderson will work with Gunst to ensure a smooth transition before Gunst retires in January 2023.
