Hewitt Brings Intermodal Expertise to HDR as Senior Rail Project Manager

OMAHA, NE — Chad Hewitt, P.E., a nationally recognized expert on intermodal rail terminals, joins HDR as a Senior Rail Project Manager.
Hewitt will be based in Oregon and provide freight rail expertise on HDR's work throughout the Pacific Northwest. He has managed the design and overseen construction of intermodal facilities and gate systems across North America and for nearly all major railroads and several ports over the past two decades. Hewitt's background is in both engineering design and construction management, helping him find practical and pragmatic solutions to real world engineering problems.
“Intermodal transportation projects are more important than ever. Joining HDR offers the opportunity to put my experience to work on some of the world's biggest rail challenges,” Hewitt said.
In addition to providing expertise in intermodal facilities, Hewitt will work closely with clients and freight rail leadership to deliver excellence on large and complex projects. His interest in technology and innovation will help drive HDR's work finding solutions to clients' needs.
“Chad's passion for client service, combined with his technical mastery of terminal design and construction make him a fantastic addition to HDR's freight rail practice,” said Bill Hjelholt, Freight Rail Director. “I look forward to working with him on major projects in the Pacific Northwest and across all of North America.”
