Hoar Construction Expands Texas Footprint with New DFW Office
DALLAS, TX — Hoar Construction announces the opening of its newest office in McKinney, Texas, to kick off the 25th anniversary of the firm's presence in the state. This is the third Texas-based office for Hoar Construction, joining established divisions in Houston and Austin. The North Texas division becomes the firm's eighth office nationwide.
“Much of our business in Texas has deep roots in and around Dallas. Over the last two decades, we've established long-term relationships with clients and trade partners from years of working across North Texas, from Abilene to Texarkana,” said Hoar Managing Director Brian Cook. “With the recent evolution of our working environment, we've organically found ourselves with a core group of talented builders who have settled their families in Collin County, one of the fastest-growing counties in Texas. As we reflect on our 25th anniversary and look to the next 25 years, it was a very easy decision to plant a flag in McKinney. This next step presents tremendous growth opportunities for our team and allows us to serve our existing clients and partners in North Texas in a more impactful way.”
Hoar Construction formally established its first office in Texas in 1997, but the firm's work across the state dates back to the 1970s with the construction of Morrison's Cafeteria in Texarkana in 1978. In recent years, Hoar has continued to serve the North Texas market with projects including The Ascent at Victory Park, a luxury high-rise development next door to American Airlines, the new Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, and a 40-bed rehabilitation hospital in Prosper.
To bring focus to the North Texas expansion, Hoar Construction recently rehired M.C. Mercer as Preconstruction Executive to lead sales efforts and grow relationships across Dallas and North Texas. Mercer originally joined Hoar Construction in 2015 and led project management efforts on large-scale projects for clients like Greystar, MD Anderson, and the Houston Methodist Hospital System.
“This is the right time for us to plant a flag in North Texas,” Mercer said. “I am excited to work with our clients in the Dallas area and continue to find new opportunities to grow our Hoar Construction brand in the market.”
In 2021, Dallas ranked second in the nation for commercial construction starts, setting a new record for the market with $10.7 billion worth of multifamily and commercial construction for the year. In the industrial sector alone, the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area topped the list of markets with the most construction, with 54.1 million square feet of industrial space underway in Q4 2021. This growth is expected to continue in 2022, and experts believe commercial starts will rise as much as 12 percent within the market this year.
