ATLANTA, GA — HOK recently announced a list of project milestones and openings happening in 2020, with some projects in Utah, Colorado and Arizona. The projects in the Rocky Mountain Construction area are the Salt Lake City International Airport Passenger Terminal; University of Colorado, Colorado Springs William J. Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Center; and Talking Stick Resort Arena Renovation, Phase 1.

Salt Lake City International Airport Passenger Terminal

HOK’s design for a unified 78-gate facility is essentially creating an entirely new airport in Utah’s capital. The anticipated LEED Gold project is one of the nation’s largest aviation developments in years and will be the first completely new airport built in the U.S. in the 21st century.

The center will be a destination for elite athlete medical and performance-based clinical, testing and counseling services as well as a site for innovative sports medicine and sports performance research and educational opportunities. The Hybl Center will be the first of its kind to integrate undergraduate and graduate education with clinical practice and research in a sports medicine and performance environment.

Talking Stick Resort Arena Renovation, Phase 1

HOK is working with the Phoenix Suns to transform Talking Stick Resort Arena, the NBA’s third-oldest arena. Scheduled to be complete before the 2021-22 season, the $230-million, phased renovation will introduce new seating options and a courtside club and provide fans with a much more dynamic event experience.
