Kamal Joins HGA as Science & Technology Principal in Boston

BOSTON, MA — HGA welcomes Leila Kamal, AIA, LEED AP, as Associate Vice President and Principal in the Science & Technology practice group in Boston. She will focus on the Northeast region while collaborating across firm-wide offices and practice groups in higher education, health care, public, and corporate.
“The nature of interdisciplinary research and learning models are rapidly evolving as organizations address new global challenges in health care, technology, climate, energy, and other areas that require innovative solutions,” Kamal said. “HGA has a strong background planning and designing science and technology spaces that enable researchers and students to achieve their best work. I'm excited to join a growing team dedicated to exceptional client services.”
Kamal has more than 20 years of experience directing design in higher education, government, health care, and science and technology for public and private organizations, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, Dartmouth College, University of Michigan, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Hamilton College, and Xavier University.
Before joining HGA, she led design, research, and marketing strategies at leading architecture and engineering firms in Boston. Kamal has presented research studies and case studies at major national conferences, including Society for College and University Planning, Association of American Colleges and Universities, and Tradeline.
She has a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in architecture from the University of Michigan.
