Mayer Joins HDR as Environmental Planning Lead

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Mike Mayer joins HDR as a Senior Environmental Planning Lead in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
With over 20 years of experience on natural resources projects related to energy development, transmission and mining, Mayer will lead complex environmental permitting and National Environmental Policy Act projects. He will also lead business development efforts for environmental planning projects nationwide.
“As industries across the board shift to accommodate changing systems, I’m excited to lead our efforts to help clients meet their needs in a sustainable way that considers environmental and social issues, and complies with regulations,” Mayer said. “I’ve spent time working for the federal government and as an Environmental Consultant, so I understand the complexity of environmental regulations and know what it takes to help our clients responsibly achieve their goals.”
Before joining HDR, Mayer worked for Bonneville Power Administration, the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service. Most recently he served as a Principal Consultant for ERM, an environmental resources firm. He also taught courses in sustainability, environmental law and natural resource management for Marylhurst University.
Mayer earned his master’s degree in wildlife and fisheries biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Juris Doctor degree and certificate in natural resource and environmental law from Lewis & Clark Law School.
