Mayor Cantrell Breaks Ground on Pines Village Group A Improvements

NEW ORLEANS, LA — Mayor LaToya Cantrell joins local officials and residents to celebrate the beginning of the Pines Village Group A work near the border of New Orleans East and Gentilly.

The scope of work varies block by block, but includes:

  • Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb-to-curb


  • Patching the roadway with asphalt


  • Repairing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons


  • Installing American with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersection


  • Replacing/repairing damaged underground water, sewer and/or drainage lines


The Pines Village Group A project is estimated to be completed in the fall 2022.

Mayor Cantrell was joined by Keith LaGrange, Director, Department of Public Works; Bob Turner, General Superintendent, Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans; Ahmed Hameed, City of New Orleans Project Manager; Calvin Ford, City of New Orleans Construction Manager; Carl Capone, All South Construction Engineers; and Carmelo Gutierrez, Wallace C. Drennan, Inc.
