PHOENIX, AZ — McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. welcomes Virginia Brown as Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and Vegetation Senior Manager for the Renewable Energy & Storage Group. Brown is an environmental soil scientist with a background in the construction industry. She is supporting McCarthy’s Renewable Energy & Storage Group by analyzing utility-scale projects on an environmental level for potential risk from a revegetation standpoint, in addition to impacts on nearby natural resources. Through Brown’s early engagement in the project lifecycle, she will be proactively helping to alleviate potential environmental/soil-related issues and creating a plan for a long-term sustainable system.

Brown serves McCarthy’s utility-scale solar and renewable energy clients throughout the country using the USDA-NRCS (United States Department of Agriculture National Resources Conservation Service) database and aerial desktop information to analyze each project site. She is able to deliver a thorough analysis of how to best to cultivate the area by referencing natural resource datasets and site-specific information. Prior to her work in the renewable energy sector, Brown worked in the oil and gas construction industry for many years. Brown received a master’s degree in soil science from North Carolina State University.
