DALLAS, TX — McCarthy Building Companies announceds the promotion of Joe Jouvenal from Senior Vice President Operations of the Dallas office to President of the southern region.

“It is a true honor to be selected to lead our Dallas, Houston and Atlanta offices, which make up McCarthy’s southern region,” Jouvenal said.

Jouvenal began with McCarthy in 1998 as a Project Engineer and moved up to Project Director as he gained experience working on some of the company’s most challenging projects, including the $167-million Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lab project in Atlanta, the $150-million National Emerging Infectious Disease laboratories project at Boston University Medical Center and the $125-million Parker H. Petit Science Center at Georgia State University.

Jouvenal joined the Dallas office as Vice President of Operations in 2012, and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2016. In these roles he led management and operations while assisting with preconstruction strategy. He was instrumental in helping position McCarthy as a builder of choice for complex aviation, healthcare, education and fine arts projects that led McCarthy to win major projects such as Collin College Technical Campus, Parkland Hospital, Plano ISD Fine Arts Center and Southwest Airlines WINGS.

“Joe will make a fantastic leader for McCarthy’s southern region. His experience from Texas to Georgia provides him with a great basis to lead teams, connect with clients and understand business drivers across the region,” said CEO Raymond Sedey. “I look forward to supporting Joe in his role and the region as a whole as we continue to build upon McCarthy’s excellent reputation.”

Jouvenal is an active advocate for industry and workforce development and is involved in community organizations. He sits on the boards of Children’s Health of Dallas Foundation and TEXO. Jouvenal earned his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
