OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — The AED Foundation (AEDF) announces the accreditation of the Western Equipment Dealers Association (WEDA) Technician program at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology (OSUIT). This program is one of AEDF's flagship colleges and serves a wide region throughout the Southeast.

“We are pleased that OSU Institute of Technology continues to demonstrate its commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement through the process of accreditation,” said The AED Foundation President Brian McGuire. “Your accreditation signifies to equipment industry stakeholders that your school continues to meet rigorous industry-specific national equipment technical standards. It further signifies to current and prospective students that your program provides the best in diesel-equipment technical education as defined by the industry it serves.”

OSU Institute of Technology's WEDA Technician program is the third program at OSUIT to be accredited by AEDF. The term of AEDF accreditation is five years, ending in March of 2027. The AED Foundation is dedicated to developing and improving heavy equipment industry partnerships that meet the mutual needs of local dealers, manufacturers, and technical colleges.

“As a 'Charter' member of the AEDF accredited schools, we are extremely excited to reaffirm that once again, OSUIT's program outcomes live up to AEDF standards,” said Terryl Lindsey, Dean of the School of Transportation & Heavy Equipment at OSUIT. “Our sponsoring companies have come to expect quality in the future technicians we teach, and these standards are our guiding path. Our program at OSUIT is unique; all our students are hired by WEDA members before they even come to us. In addition, our paid internships re-enforce the learning they received while on campus.”
