READING, MA — Weston & Sampson, an interdisciplinary firm with nearly 750 employees, announces the transition of the role of Chief Executive Officer from Michael Scipione, PE, to Frank Ricciardi, PE, LSP. Ricciardi has been working continuously with Scipione and the corporate leadership team over the past year for a seamless transition.

Since 2005, Scipione has served as CEO and has been instrumental in the firm's success and growth. Guided by his leadership, Weston & Sampson diversified services centered on the needs of clients to include energy (renewables, gas, efficiency), climate resiliency, facilities design, and landscape architecture while strengthening its practices in environmental, transportation, water and wastewater engineering, as well as operations and construction. Scipione has led the geographic growth of the firm with additional offices throughout the Northeast, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions. Going forward, Scipione will shift to a client-facing focus, bringing his technical expertise, consulting experience, and problem-solving skills to support clients' environmental and infrastructure projects.

A registered Professional Engineer and Licensed Site Professional, Ricciardi has more than 28 years of experience in project management, climate resiliency, environmental consulting, and infrastructure engineering projects. He holds a Master of Science in environmental engineering from Tufts University, and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is the Chair of the TSCA and Emerging Contaminant Subcommittee of the Environmental Business Council of New England and an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Licensed Site Professional Association.
