HOUSTON, TX — Erin Joseph Machac, AIA, a Principal Architect in Stantec's East Greenway Plaza office in Houston, Texas, has been named the Higher Education Market Leader for the firm's South Central Buildings group. Machac has two decades of experience managing educational facility design projects for K-12 and higher education clients across Texas. In this new role, he will help guide business development activities, strengthen team relationships, and lead client management and satisfaction initiatives throughout the region.

Machac earned his bachelor of environmental design from Texas A&M University. He is a registered architect in the state of Texas and a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Association for Learning Environments, and the U.S. Green Building Council. Of recent note, he led the project teams for Sam Houston State University's Piney Woods Hall, a 670-bed residential complex that acts as a gateway to the campus and draws students together, and the University of Houston's Multi-Research Engineering Building, a 120,000-square-foot free-standing research facility offering undergraduate and graduate students an innovative, hands-on laboratory experience.

Matt Snider, Principal and Managing Leader for Stantec's South Central Buildings group said, "Erin has been instrumental in leading several high-profile projects within the Houston market. I'm excited that this new role allows Erin to deepen his focus on client management and further his role as an education design expert in Texas."
