TEMPE, AZ — Sundt Construction, Inc. has promoted Nicole Calamaio to Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, Calamaio will be responsible for talent acquisition, administrative talent development, craft workforce development, human resources and total rewards.

“Nicole’s experience and passion for people make her an ideal addition to Sundt’s executive leadership team,” said G. Michael Hoover, the company’s President, CEO and Chairman of the Board.

Calamaio joined Sundt in 2014 as Corporate Director of Total Rewards and was promoted to Corporate Director of Human Resources three years later. Last spring, Calamaio was promoted to the position of Vice President of Talent Management where she was responsible for providing leadership in the area of human resources, total rewards and administrative workforce development.

Since joining Sundt, she has redesigned the compensation program to ensure it is competitive and improved the employee benefits program, which is among the best in the industry. Additionally, Calamaio successfully implemented a talent management tool to advance Sundt’s talent capabilities and to enhance the employee experience.

Calamaio has more than 20 years of industry-specific talent management experience, five of which have been with Sundt. She is knowledgeable about employee-ownership and has worked actively to advocate for employee stock owner plan companies at the national political level. She holds a master’s degree in human resources from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in human resources from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.
