Sundt Senior Vice President Abbott’s Role Expands into Texas

FORT WORTH, TX — Sundt Construction, Inc. recently expanded Senior Vice President and Southwest District Manager Ryan Abbott’s role to include the Texas District of the Building Group.

“Our presence in San Antonio and the Metroplex continues to expand and having Ryan in this position will continue our success,” said Teri Jones, Sundt’s Building Group President.

In his expanded role, Abbott will provide direction to the Texas district’s leadership team and is responsible for the overall performance of its building projects, including acquiring and executing work in the Lone Star State.

Abbott began his career at Sundt two decades ago as a Field Engineer, working his way through every level of project management prior to being named Senior Vice President and Southwest District Manager. He has played a key role in many notable Sundt projects, including the $256-million Arizona State University (ASU) Sun Devil Stadium transformation in Tempe (a joint venture with Hunt Construction), the $400-million Banner – University Medical Center Tucson tower in Tucson (a joint venture with DPR Construction), and the $113-million Interdisciplinary Science & Technology Building 4 at ASU in Tempe.

As a modern construction leader, national lecturer and educator on alternate project delivery methods, Abbott has had his work published both locally and nationally in many periodicals. Abbott currently serves as the Chair for the Associated General Contractors of America’s building division. He holds an Master of Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Arizona State University (ASU), where he remains active as the immediate past Chair of the ASU Alumni Association and a National Alumni Council member.
