BOISE, ID — Geothermal Rising appoints POWER Engineers Senior Project Engineer Jaclyn Urbank to join its Board of Directors as a Consultant Representative.

“We are delighted to see Jaclyn take this influential leadership role in the geothermal sector,” said POWER Executive Vice President Gerry Murray. “Her technical expertise, passion, and desire to promote this critical yet often underrepresented 24/7 base load renewable technology is inspiring.”

Urbank has spent her more than 10-year career at POWER becoming the first woman to step into the lead geothermal process modeling role and more recently moving into a project manager/engineer role. Urbank is passionate about geothermal and the benefits that clean, renewable, and baseload power is bringing to the world. Through her involvement in the industry and the Geothermal Rising organization, Urbank hopes to raise awareness of the many benefits of geothermal and offer new perspectives.

“I'm thrilled to become more involved in the Geothermal Rising organization,” Urbank said. “Geothermal Rising is focused on bringing geothermal to the forefront of the energy transition, and I hope to bring fresh insight, make new connections, and initiate forward momentum in policy.”

Geothermal Rising is a global nonprofit association for the advancement of geothermal energy through outreach, collaboration, and education efforts. Its mission is to connect the geothermal community and champion geothermal energy in the United States and around the world. Geothermal Rising has over 1,200 individual members and over 90 corporate members.
