OLYMPIA, WA — Patrick White joins HDR as the Washington Dams, Levees, and Civil Works Lead. White has 12 years of experience primarily focused on dam safety-related projects for earthen and concrete dams, levees, and coal ash ponds across the southeastern United States. His work has ranged from exploration and instrumentation to evaluation and remediation, including both design and construction.

White has additional expertise in embankment stability, filters, grouting, cutoff walls, and dam safety/risk analyses. He has successfully completed projects for the Tennessee Valley Authority, United States Army Corps of Engineers, and various other power producers.

Based in the Olympia, Washington, office, White will continue to expand the dams, levees, and civil works practice in Washington and the Pacific Northwest.

White has volunteered with the American Society of Civil Engineers for local science, technology, engineering, and math events. He served as a guest lecturer on construction and soil mechanics for the geology and engineering technology programs at East Tennessee State University. He is a Professional Engineer and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee in civil engineering with a concentration on geotechnical engineering and construction materials.
