C.W. Driver Announces Completion Of Luxury Senior Living Community, Fountainview At Gonda West, In Playa Vista

LOS ANGELES, CA C.W. Driver Companies announces the completion of Fountainview at Gonda West, a luxury senior living community in Los Angeles, California's, Playa Vista neighborhood. Located at 12490 Fielding Circle in Playa Vista, the $120 million, 460,000-square-foot community features a total of 199 units in addition to a variety of amenities. Designed by Gensler, the Jewish Home for the Aging's Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) serves more than 250 seniors with a full range of active living, healthcare and in-home services.
"Providing a premier facility for seniors to continue to live in as their needs change, we are happy to add Fountainview at Gonda West to our list of reputable projects that are a testament to C.W. Driver Companies' unmatched expertise in senior housing," said Dana Roberts, CEO at C.W. Driver Companies. "Playa Vista's bustling retail and entertainment activity will provide residents with unmatched local amenities, but this also presented a construction challenge. Through scheduled deliveries and constant communication with all project team members, we were able to diminish disruption to the surrounding area."
CCRCs are a housing option that incorporates independent and assisted living with healthcare services, offering a tiered approach to the aging process as residents' needs change. C.W. Driver Companies' scope of work for the complex included overseeing construction in addition to managing site logistics, scheduling and safety quality control of all subcontractors. C.W. Driver Companies also constructed the 257-space subterranean parking garage, which includes parking stackers and electric vehicle parking spots, as well as integrated sustainability components such as solar panels and a system that uses reclaimed water for landscaping.
"Our community is now fully reserved, showing the need for senior housing in Los Angeles is strong," said Molly Forest, CEO and President of Jewish Home for the Aging. "We wanted to create an active living community that residents would be proud to call "˜home,' and with C.W. Driver Companies overseeing the project, we were able to accomplish just that. With high-end finishes and a range of amenities and living options, the community accommodates residents' changing needs, regardless of their level of care."
Fountainview at Gonda West is sponsored by The Los Angeles Jewish Home, the largest single-source provider of senior housing in Los Angeles. Of the 199 apartment units, 175 accommodate individual living, while 24 units are structured for those in need of assisted living and memory care. Offering 18 different floor plans, the one and two-bedroom units range from 840 square feet to 2,380 square feet and include full kitchens, laundry appliances and open-air terraces.
Community amenities include a main kitchen, dining room, bar/lounge, salon, massage room, card room and art room along with a fitness center, library, screening room, a ground-floor café and an accessible rooftop deck with both a swimming pool and spa.
