Dewberry Welcomes Alduino and Melgar

FAIRFAX, VA Dewberry hires Anthony Alduino, P.E., and Alex Melgar, P.E., as Senior Project Managers in the firm's New York, New York, office.

Alduino will support Dewberry's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering services in the metropolitan area. With over 21 years of MEP and fire protection engineering experience, Alduino has extensive expertise in building systems design for residential, commercial, institutional, and educational projects.

Prior to joining Dewberry, Alduino was a Project Manager and led projects such as the World Hunger Museum in New York City and the Bronx Zoo Animal Hospital and Quarantine Building in the Bronx, New York. He was the lead mechanical engineer for Terminal One at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens, New York. He has worked with the New York City School Construction Authority as a project manager and lead engineer on projects such as the Bronx School for Law, Government, and Justice, and six multi-campus reconstruction projects for various schools in New York City.

Alduino earned his master's and bachelor's degrees in architectural engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He is a Professional Engineer in New York. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-conditioning Engineers, and the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.

Melgar joins Dewberry with expertise in the design of high-rise buildings and post-tensioned concrete for building structures in the office and residential markets.

Melgar completed over 40 million square feet of private-sector design over the past 28 years. As a technical expert in post-tensioned concrete and high-rise buildings, he has worked on the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; the Two Four 54 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; and the Tocumen International Airport expansion in Panama City, Panama. He is currently working on improvements to the 68th Street Subway Station for ADA accessibility for MTA-New York City Transit.

Melgar earned his master's degree in civil engineering from San Jose State University and his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Central American University in San Salvador, El Salvador. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
