CHICAGO, IL Brett Kelley will lead a new mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) practice in Chicago, Illinois, as a Senior Vice President at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services organization.

"We are very excited about the technical and leadership skills Brett brings to the firm, and thrilled to have a Building Systems (MEP and Specialist services) practice through which we can locally deliver our world-class expertise and experience," said David Cooper, President of U.S. Buildings Sector at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff and the region's Chief Commercial Officer. "Paired with Chicago-based Halvorson and Partners structural engineers, who joined WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff last fall, we can now offer fully integrated multidisciplinary engineering and design into this important building's market."

Kelley has nearly 20 years of experience in MEP engineering, development and project management, and the integration of sustainability for a wide variety of building types, including high rise and commercial mixed-use properties, and institutional/healthcare facilities. Prior to joining WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, he was Regional Director and member of the board of directors at Glumac, an international engineering firm that specializes in sustainable building systems. He also served as Managing Principal of the firm's San Francisco, California, office and as its Northern California Healthcare Group Leader.

"Brett being based in our office is an important step in capitalizing on one of the things that most excited us when we joined WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff," said Bob Halvorson, Founding Principal of Halvorson and Partners, a WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff company. "Offering MEP services out of Chicago will allow us to serve our clients in new and exciting ways."

From 2003 to 2010, Kelley was a Vice President at Henneman Engineering in Chicago, serving as a Project Technical Leader and Manager of Clients' Operations. He also participated in the development of the firm's commercial and healthcare business lines.

Kelley received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Northern Illinois University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in California, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, New York, and Wisconsin; a Certified Healthcare Facilities Design Professional; and is a LEED AP BD+C. He is a member of the United States Green Building Council and the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers.
