Hill International/AECOM JV Selected as Construction Manager for New Academic Building at SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology

NEW YORK, NY Hill International, the global leader in managing construction risk, announces that its joint venture with AECOM has been awarded a contract from the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) to provide construction management services for the initial phase of a new academic building at the State University of New York (SUNY) Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, New York. The three-year contract has an estimated value to the joint venture of approximately $5 million for all phases. Â Hill and AECOM are equal partners in the joint venture.
The new mixed-use academic building, located along West 28th Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, will be a 109,000-gross-square-foot, mixed-use building with a glass façade, nine levels above grade and two levels below grade and with connections to the existing Feldman Center Building. The building will include classrooms, administrative offices, meeting rooms, assembly spaces, a common area and various specialized use spaces. It is also anticipated that the project will involve renovations and/or modifications to areas of the Feldman Center Building. The estimated construction cost of the project is $150 million.
