Noble Joins Finley as Bridge Designer
TALLAHASSEE, FL — Bridge design firm, Finley Engineering Group (FINLEY), welcomes new staff member, Patrick Noble, E.I., as Bridge Designer to its growing bridge design and construction engineering firm.
Noble graduated from Texas A&M University in 2012 earning his masters and bachelor’s degrees in structural engineering. While at Texas A&M, he was the Assistant Captain of the Steel Bridge Design Team where he competed in the AISC Student Steel Bridge Competition. Most recently, Noble provided structural designs for fabrication support, loadout, installation, and in place design as a Structural Engineer for an Offshore Renewables Group.
“I am looking forward to joining Finley Engineering Group and grateful to be given the opportunity to continue to grow as a Structural Engineer in the next stage of my career - from offshore wind turbine foundation design to complex bridge design,” said Noble. “Being able to work under well respected leaders of the bridge industry on award winning and challenging projects throughout the nation is truly exciting.”
Noble will be assigned to the SR 40 Ocklawaha Bridge Replacement design team where he will be involved in preparing the Florida-I Beams (FIB) girder design. This $82 million bridge replacement located in Marion County, Florida, includes the construction of new twin bridges 2,732 feet long with 21 spans having lengths up to 140 feet that carry two lanes of traffic in each direction to span the Ocklawaha River. The superstructure is comprised of 72-inch deep FIBs with a composite cast-in-place concrete deck.
“Patrick has a solid understanding of structural engineering,” said Craig Finley, Jr., P.E., President, FINLEY Engineering Group. “He’s had the opportunity to work with some of the latest material technology and off shore techniques and we are excited about bringing this expertise to our bridge design and construction engineering projects. Patrick has demonstrated the ability to work creatively and collaboratively on innovative renewable energy projects and I know he will bring the same approach to FINLEY. We’re delighted to have Patrick on our team.”
