Skanska Awarded Contract for Nashville Fairgrounds Renovations

NASHVILLE, TN — Skanska USA announces that it has signed a contract with the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to renovate the Nashville Fairgrounds. The approximately $12 million construction project will include renovations for three to five existing expo buildings and demolition of multiple dilapidated structures.
The initial phase of work will also include site upgrades to create sports fields, walking trails, and green space, as well as improve access to the property. This project is Phase I of what is expected to be multiple phases of work to help revitalize the 117-acre Nashville Fairgrounds property.
Commonwealth Development Group Inc. is the project manager and owner’s representative for the project. Adkisson & Associates Architects, Inc. is the architect. Construction is set to begin in 2017 with an anticipated completion date in February 2018.
