Dewberry Promotes Pereira to Senior Associate
FAIRFAX, VA — Dewberry announces that Jose Pereira, PE, has been promoted to Senior Associate in the firm’s Panama City, Florida, office.
Pereira has been with the firm for nearly 25 years and has 30 years of experience as an environmental engineer. His expertise includes the design of water distribution, transmission, pumping, treatment and storage facilities; wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment facilities; pilot-scale and laboratory-scale treatability studies; and water and wastewater wet chemistry analysis. In addition to his design capabilities, he has provided construction administration and startup services on numerous projects, including Southside Wastewater Treatment Plant improvements, effluent filtration system in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and the upgrades to the water and wastewater treatment facilities at the MidAmerica Industrial Park in Pryor, Oklahoma.
Currently, Pereira is working on two contracts with the MidAmerica Industrial Park that include improvements to water and wastewater treatment facilities. In addition, he is working on a project in downtown Tampa to perform wastewater flow studies, and a separate project developing construction plans for the relocation of utilities at the intersection of Panama City Beach Parkway and Cauley Avenue in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Pereira earned both a master’s in environmental engineering and a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Oklahoma State University (1988, 1985). In addition to being a licensed engineer in Florida and Oklahoma, he has co-authored “Biotransformation of Lindane and 2,4-D in Batch Enrichment Cultures,” published by Water Research, and “Comparison of PACT Process to Coupled Physical/Chemical Biological Treatment,” published by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
