The Austin Company Wins DBIA Design-Build Award
ST. AUGUSTINE, FL — The Austin Company has been recognized by the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Florida Region for their work on Northrop Grumman’s Building 100 at the company’s Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence in St. Augustine, Florida.
In addition, the new 366,000-square-foot aircraft manufacturing facility was designed, engineered, and constructed with LEED® features and performance characteristics and was recently awarded LEED® Gold Certification.
Building 100 was selected in the 2017 DBIA Florida Region Design-Build Awards with a Merit Award in the Industrial/Process/Research Facilities Category. The submission was rigorously judged by a panel of owners and DBIA professionals and is honored for design and construction that meets and exceeds owner expectations.
Winning projects were carried out under a single-responsibility contract and demonstrated successful application of design-build best practices. The Austin Company provided full planning, design, engineering and construction management services for this project. DBIA’s Florida Region Design-Build Awards were recognized at Design-Build 2017, the 12th Annual Conference of the DBIA Florida Region in Orlando, Florida.
