Scottsbluff High School Construction Set to Begin

SCOTTSBLUFF, NE The engineers and architects at Baker & Associates, Inc. and Studio 120 Architecture have been hard at work throughout the past few months putting the plans together for construction of Scottsbluff High School.
Once the 2015 school year ends in May, the first phase of construction will begin which includes the infrastructure improvements for the property. New water and sewer lines will be installed on site that will be used for the new portions of the school, and the parking lot on the west side of the high school will be repaved and expanded.
The work that will be done this summer will prepare the site for the main portions of construction, which will begin in the fall.
Starting in the fall of 2015, major changes will start to be seen. Throughout the 2015-2016 school year construction will include the addition of a new classroom wing, a new front entry on the south side of the building facing 27th Street, a new cafeteria and kitchen, new administration offices, and new band and choir rooms.
Then, during the 2016-2017 school year, the existing 3-story classroom wing will be demolished and construction of the remaining areas of the building will progress including a new Ag and Natural Resources classroom wing, a remodel of the existing cafeteria area into the new Freshman Learning Center, a new auxiliary gym, a new wrestling room, a new weights room, and a new library.
The full set of plans for the school construction will be completed and will go out to bid this summer.
