Transportation Infrastructure Expert Anderson Joins HNTB

BOSTON, MA David Anderson, PE, joined HNTB Corporation as Massachusetts Project Delivery Officer. Based in the firm's Boston, Massachusetts, office, Anderson is responsible for HNTB's operations in Massachusetts such as contracting and work planning as well as quality and technical excellence.

"Dave is a well-known and highly respected transportation professional with extensive expertise on high-profile transportation infrastructure projects," said Gary Bua, PE, HNTB's Massachusetts office leader and vice president. "He is a proven leader, and his insights and knowledge are a significant asset as we partner with clients on vital highway and bridge projects across the region."

Prior to joining HNTB, Anderson served more than 30 years at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation in senior roles, including deputy chief engineer and director of project management. He was responsible for coordinating teams providing bridge project management, roadway project management, environmental services and traffic engineering. While at MassDOT, Anderson also managed engineers responsible for the design of more than 700 projects with an estimated construction value of more than $2 billion. 

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Anderson holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and is a professional engineer in Massachusetts.

HNTB has been integral in the creation of major elements of Massachusetts' transportation infrastructure, including the Leonard P. Zakim Bridge, the Massachusetts Turnpike, the John Greenleaf Whittier Bridge, the expansion of South Station, and the Fitchburg commuter rail line project among others.
