(l-r) Bill Scheuerman, Ty Ortiz and Calvin Yeh. Yeh & Associates golf team took first place in ACEC Colorado's golf tournament, a benefit that supports scholarships for Colorado engineering students.
DENVER, CO More than 80 golfers and 20 sponsors helped raise $10,000 for the American Council of Engineering Companies of Colorado's (ACEC Colorado) Scholarship Program.
The annual golf tournament began in 2002 and is the primary fundraiser for the ACEC Colorado Scholarship program, which awarded more than $40,000 in 2015-16 scholarships to high school and college engineering students.
"Supporting the education of engineering students is an investment in our industry," said ACEC Colorado President Marvinetta Hartwig, P.E. "We are committed to growing the scholarship fund, which is one of the ways we support the future engineering workforce."
The program is open to full-time students pursuing a bachelor's degree from a university engineering program in Colorado that is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology. Applicants must also be a college junior, senior or a fifth-year senior in a five-year program by fall of the 2016-17 academic year; be a U.S. citizen; and have an understanding of consulting engineering.
