TxDOT Begins a Project to Widen FM 2697 in Wheeler County

CHILDRESS, TX The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) began a project to widen approximately 4 miles of Farm-to-Market (FM) 2697 in Wheeler County.

The $3.4 million contract awarded to J. Lee Milligan Inc. of Amarillo, Texas, consists of widening the current 20-foot roadway to 28 feet with a new asphalt overlay. The project begins one mile west of FM 592 to the east end of the pavement. Weather permitting, this project will be complete in June.
