Sedey Assumes Position as McCarthy Building Companies President for Texas Region

DALLAS, TX  McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. announces that Ray Sedey has assumed the position of President of McCarthy's Texas region. Sedey moved into this new role September 1 for a transition period with Michael McWay, the company's former President for the Texas region. McWay began serving as Regional President in 2001 and retired December 31.Â
Prior to assuming his current position, Sedey served as Executive Vice President, overseeing company operations in Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado. He started his career with McCarthy as a Project Engineer in 2000 and moved up in the company to serve in all aspects of project management including Project Superintendent, Manager, Director, Executive and Vice President. Throughout the course of his career with McCarthy, Sedey has managed nearly $700 million in construction projects. He was instrumental in evolving McCarthy's market presence in Nevada, New Mexico, and recently spearheaded the opening of McCarthy's newest office in Denver. During his tenure, the firm was repeatedly named a top Las Vegas "Best Place to Work."

In addition to Sedey's experience with McCarthy, he has been actively involved in a variety of professional organizations throughout his career including serving on the Associated General Contractors of Nevada Board of Directors, executive committee and government affairs committee; University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Construction Management Advisory Board; Montana State University Construction Management Advisory Board and Civil Engineering Advisory Board; and the American Concrete Institute. He has been repeatedly recognized for his leadership and innovative approach, receiving an Engineering News-Record Southwest 20 Under 40 Award, among others. Sedey holds a Bachelor of Science in construction engineering from Montana State University.
