Crawford Appointed District Engineer of Amarillo
AUSTIN, TX Randy Hopmann P.E. with the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) announces Brian P. Crawford, P.E. as District Engineer for The Amarillo District. Crawford will oversee the planning, designing, building, operation and maintenance of the state transportation system for the 17-county Amarillo District in his new role.
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering in 1985, he became an Engineering Assistant for the Houston District in the Northwest Area office. In 1990, he advanced to Design Engineer in the District's central design section.
In 1993, Crawford became a Field Engineer in the Construction Maintenance Division in Austin and was named District Construction Engineer for the Abilene District in 1997. Two years later, he became Director of Maintenance for the district in September 1999 and in November of 2013, was named Director of Operations for the Abilene District.
Crawford is a third generationTXDOT employee. His grandfather Wade Crawford, retired as Abilene District Construction Engineer in 1974. His father, LeRoy Crawford, enjoyed a long career in the Bridge Division and retired as the Director of Bridge Design in 1990.
