Kirby-Smith Machinery Opening New Facility in Anna

ANNA, TEXAS The Anna Community Development Corporation (ACDC) in partnership with the Anna Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) purchased an 85-acre tract of land located at the NE corner of State Highway 5 and the Collin County Outer Loop. Â The Corporations intend to develop the land into a business park that will increase employment in Anna, Texas, and diversify the tax base.
Last summer AEDC/ACDC staff received a letter from Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. stating their interest in constructing a new facility north of 380 between Preston Road and Highway 75. Â The Anna Community Development Corporation reached out to Kirby-Smith and for the last several months has been working on an economic development agreement that will bring their business to Anna as the first tenant in the new business park.
Under the terms of an Agreement with the Anna Community Development Corporation, Kirby-Smith will invest eight-million-dollars in a new facility, machinery, and equipment on seven acres of land in the new business park. Â In addition, Kirby-Smith will create a minimum of 10 new jobs within 36 months, and anticipates doing more than 10 million in sales the first year in operation which would result in approximately $200,000 in local option sales tax invested back into the community. Â Kirby-Smith anticipates the branch will grow quickly and will need to add additional staff resulting in more than 30 employees at this new full service location.Â
Kirby-Smith intends to be a community partner supporting community events and partnering with Anna High School for internship opportunities. "Our staff is excited about the opportunity to partner with Kirby-Smith Machinery, and have them as our first tenant in the business park," said, AEDC/ACDC Chief Administrative Officer, Jessica Perkins.
Kirby-Smith Machinery's David Cooper, Manager for Special Projects, said, "Kirby-Smith Machinery with our 30-year history of customer support is pleased to be expanding in the DFW Metroplex, and this location will add to our ability to better serve our customer base. With this new branch operation, a planned building in Lubbock on a site we already own, and other new site locations, we will continue to better meet the needs of our industry partners in site development, energy and highway building."
