First Tadano GR-1200XL Delivered to Bigge Crane and Rigging Co.

The first two 120-ton capacity Tadano GR-1200XL rough terrain cranes were delivered to Bigge's yard in Houston, Texas.
HOUSTON, TX The first two Tadano GR-1200XL rough terrain cranes arrived in the United States and immediately delivered to Bigge Crane and Rigging Co.'s Houston, Texas, branch.
The 120-ton capacity GR-1200XL is the largest two-axle rough terrain crane in the Tadano RT range, and was launched in March at ConExpo - Con/Agg 2017. This Tadano crane features a 183.7-foot boom. When equipped with the 58.1-foot bi-fold jib, the crane can achieve a lifting height of 241 feet 4 inches.Â
Tadano America President, Ingo Schiller and Senior Vice-President of National Accounts, Ron Dogotch met with Vice President of Bigge's Gulf Coast Region in Houston, Brian Noga, where they celebrated the crane hand-off during a ceremony in Bigge's yard.Â
The GR-1200XL continues Tadano's tradition of offering long boom lengths on compact carriers. The crane is also equipped with the new Tadano "Smart Chart System" that expands the working area from a traditional circular shape to a square pyramid, allowing users to achieve maximum lifting performance when working directly over outriggers in an asymmetrical outrigger setup.Â
"The GR-1200XL is a classic Tadano design with a long boom and jib combination. This crane is easy to transport and like all Tadano cranes it is safe, efficient, reliable and cost effective to own, operate, and maintain." said Noga. "The new Smart Chart system is also one of the reasons we like this machine. At Bigge, we are always looking for ways to maximize performance and safety."Â
Dogotch said Bigge was interested
in this model before it was even launched. "Their management team was excited to hear about Tadano bringing in the new GR-1200XL, and made an early commitment to purchase the first units for their rental fleet," Dogotch said. "With a national footprint and clients in a wide range of industries, Bigge is always looking for the safest and most cost efficient lifting equipment. Tadano cranes fit that bill."
