Groundbreaking Ceremony Commences Construction of New 50-Unit Supportive Living Residence

WHEELING, IL Local officials, community members, financing partners and project personnel will join together for a groundbreaking ceremony marking the launch of PhilHaven, a new 50-unit affordable and supportive housing development located in Wheeling, Illinois. Under development by a partnership formed by and , the three-story building will offer a permanent living option for individuals who can live independently yet benefit from supportive services. is providing the comprehensive construction services representing their third assignment on behalf of Daveri Development Group while Incorporated is serving as architect for the project.

PhilHaven will be comprised of 57,174 square feet of living space that has been carefully designed to accommodate the well being of its residents through the incorporation of numerous tenant amenities. The first floor will feature the property's on-site management offices and a variety of community spaces such as a lounge with an adjacent kitchen, technology center, exercise room, reading nook and a bike storage room. The building will be comprised of 50 private apartments configured in one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts and complete with contemporary fixtures and finishes.

Green building strategies will be advanced throughout the supportive living development by incorporating Enterprise Green Communities Criteria as well as energy-efficient HVAC systems. PhilHaven will also be equipped with state-of-the-art security technology and an integrated intercom system in each apartment. Sitework for the project will be provided by McShane Construction and includes on-site parking for 65 vehicles with 50 carports, drought-tolerant native landscaping and outdoor spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Financing for PhilHaven was provided by the Illinois Housing Development Authority, National Equity Fund, Inc., Village Bank & Trust, Wintrust Financial, Cook County, Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO) and Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH). Residents will benefit from supportive services provided by Kenneth Young Center and Alexian Brothers.

McShane Construction is slated to complete PhilHaven in Summer 2016.
