Herbstritt Named Childress Area Engineer

CHILDRESS, TX The Texas Department of Transportation's Childress District announces the appointment of Matt Herbstritt as the new Area Engineer for the Childress Area Office.
In this position, Herbstritt is responsible for the construction and maintenance activities in Wheeler, Collingsworth, Donley, Hall, Childress, Hardeman and Briscoe counties.
Herbstritt graduated from Texas Tech University in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. Upon graduation, he worked a short time in the private sector for a consulting engineering firm in Amarillo, Texas. In December 2012, he began his TxDOT career as an Engineering Assistant in the Childress design section. In 2015, he moved to the Childress Area Office as a Transportation Engineer and in 2016, he was selected as the Assistant Area Engineer in the Childress Area Office, where he has done an outstanding job.
Herbstritt resides in Childress, Texas, with his wife, Tracee, and their two sons: Ethan, age 9, and Cooper, age 6. He spends his free time following his children's activities, golf, travel and shooting sports.
