New Projects Approved for the Lufkin District

LUFKIN, TX The Texas Transportation Commission approved more than $263.6 million in statewide construction projects, with more than $2.2 million approved for the Lufkin District.

Angelina County was approved for a $164,664.83 project that will include the installation of a traffic signal on US 69 South at FM 326. Third Coast Services LLC, Magnolia, Texas, will serve as contractor for the project. The project funding is part of the Highway Safety Improvement Program and the Preventive Maintenance and Rehabilitation Program. No timeline for completion has been set.

A $294,820.39 construction project was approved that will include milling of edge line and center line rumble strips or profile edge line markings on various highways in Angelina, Houston, Nacogdoches, San Augustine and San Jacinto counties. Stripe-A-Zone, Inc., Grand Prairie, Texas, will serve as contractor for the project. Funding for the project is part of the Highway Safety Improvement Program. No timeline for completion has been set.

Shelby and San Augustine counties were approved for a $1.8 million construction project on SH 7 that includes resurfacing with a Permeable Friction Course designed to repel water and reduce road noise from the Attoyac Bayou to Mount Herman. Moore Brothers Construction Company, Lufkin, Texas, will serve as contractor. Funding for the project is part of the Preventive Maintenance and Rehabilitation Program. No timeline for completion has been set.
