CINCINNATI, OH Skanska announces that its joint venture with Megen Construction has been awarded a $65 million construction management contract with Fairfield City Schools and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission for the first segment of the Fairfield City School District's multi-building program in Fairfield, Ohio.
Skanska USA Building will include $46 million, its full share of the contract, in its second quarter 2015 order bookings.
The project includes the demolition of Central Elementary and Fairfield Freshman School; construction of a new 140,500-square-foot Central High School on the same property; and the construction of a new 90,300-square-foot freshman school, adjacent to the district's existing senior high school. All three buildings have been pre-registered for LEED certification consideration. The Fairfield City School District currently serves nearly 10,000 students.
Construction will begin in September with an anticipated completion date in August 2017. SHP Leading Design is the architect for the project.
