CCS Safety Directors Forum - Focus on Social Media Challenges

INDIANAPOLIS, IN The Coalition for Construction Safety (CCS, formerly MICCS) recently held a Safety Directors Forum that focused on the challenges surrounding the use of social media in the workplace.
Janelle Thompson and Angie Garcia of Carson Boxberger highlighted the legal risks faced by companies at the intersection where social media meets the workplace and recommended practical approaches for how a company can minimize potential liabilities.Â
According to Marcy Watson, CCS Association Manager, "Companies continue to experience the challenge of balancing the pervasive use of social media with their own efforts to curb the legal risks arising from such use. Addressing these issues can be particularly challenging as the law has simply not evolved as quickly as has the rising and widespread use of social media."
These forum hosted by CCS are free to anyone in the industry wanting to attend. The next such event will occur on July 27 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at Poynter Sheet Metal located at 775 Commerce Parkway, West Drive in Greenwood, Indiana. Tiffany Ellefson of Midwest Toxicology will discuss substance abuse policies for the use of Marijuana.
