Sundt Completes Laboratory Renovations at California State University – Channel Islands
CAMARILLO, CA Sundt Construction, Inc. recently completed a $2.4 million laboratory renovation at California State University Channel Islands (CI) in Camarillo, California.
Designed to accommodate the university's biology and chemistry departments, the design-build project included installation and reconfiguration of casework, fume hoods, mechanical and electrical systems, and equipment in four existing dry laboratories in the campus's Aliso Hall building.
"We were very pleased that our work on the university's Sierra Hall led to this opportunity to renovate the Aliso Hall labs," said Sundt Vice President Robert Stokes. "Our team proved that we could fast-track this project in time for the spring semester, and we followed through, delivering the project in just eight months."
The Aliso Hall renovation is one of three projects Sundt has been contracted to build on the CI campus. Sundt also completed the campus's Sierra Hall Classroom and Laboratory building and currently is constructing the university's new Santa Rosa Village student housing complex, which is expected to be completed later this year. Other notable Sundt education projects completed across the state include the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union for San Diego State University in San Diego, California; the University of California, Davis' Veterinary Medicine 3B Building in Davis, California; and the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo Recreation Expansion in San Luis Obispo, California.
