Don Allen of Spohn Associates Retires After 23 Years With Firm

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – January 2021 serves to be the last month of the incredible tenure for Don Allen at Spohn Associates. Allen began at Spohn in March of 1998 and has spent the last 23 years going from a Project Manager, to Senior Project Manager, and arriving at Project Executive. For a company that celebrates its 45th anniversary this year, Allen has been a driving force in the success of Spohn Associates. He worked every day managing and running projects all over the Midwest – and projects that included all scopes of what Spohn provides including panels, railings, skylights, sunshades, etc... Allen can do it all.
He's well known for being a math whiz and is even referred to as Spohn's “Panel Guy”. Spohn's Operation Coordinator, Regina Cooper, said this: “He's always been a dedicated worker, a compassionate friend, and a source of not only knowledge, but most importantly encouragement. His positive attitude and willingness to help anyone will truly be missed. If he puts as much effort into enjoying retirement as he has at this company, it's sure to be a success!”
Steve Black, Vice President of Operations, had this to say about Allen: “I have had the pleasure of working with Don Allen for over 30 years during which time he has been a friend, a leader, and a mentor to our entire project management staff. I would say that I am going to miss him but I plan to keep him and his wealth of knowledge on speed-dial.”
In just the last 15 years of his 23, Allen has managed 828 projects. Some of his largest jobs include Roche Diagnostics & Miami Valley Hospital. In Allen's retirement, he looks forward to fishing more and getting to spend more time with his family. Those members include his wife Sheryl, daughter Laurie, son Luke, and his grandkids: Jordan, Cady, Hunter, Zephyn, and Scarlett.
Everyone at Spohn will miss Allen greatly, but his legacy will live on through the knowledge he has shared and the laughs he provided to all of his friends and coworkers. Spohn wishes him all the best.
