Haygood Named 2022 Mississippi Engineering Society Young Engineer of the Year

JACKSON, MS — Reid Haygood, PE, of Neel-Schaffer was announced as the 2022 Young Engineer of the Year by the Mississippi Engineering Society (MES).
Haygood received the award during the awards luncheon of the MES Winter Meetings at the Sheraton Flowood Refuge Hotel & Conference Center in Flowood, Mississippi. Criteria for the award includes:
Keith Purvis, PE, who leads Neel-Schaffer's Mississippi Transportation discipline, presented the award.
“In my 34-year career I have not worked around another young engineer who is a better example of these qualifications,” Purvis said. “Reid is a valued member of our staff at Neel-Schaffer, but more than that he is a great asset to the engineering profession.”
Haygood joined Neel-Schaffer in 2019 and serves as a Transportation Engineer in the company's Jackson office. He has five years of experience in roadway design and project management and has worked on a wide variety of transportation projects in his three years with the firm.
Haygood is a Registered Professional Engineer in Mississippi and holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Mississippi State University.
