HNTB's Dilts to Lead the New Jersey Office

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Stephen Dilts has been named New Jersey Office Leader for HNTB. Based out of the firm's Parsippany office, Dilts will oversee nearly 200 multi-disciplinary professionals and staff among the four New Jersey offices in Parsippany, Cherry Hill, Lawrence, and Newark. Dilts most recently led the New York office of HNTB.

“Given his extensive professional experience and relationships in the New Jersey marketplace, combined with the significant potential for growth, I firmly believe that Steve is the best person to lead this office and take it to new levels of success,” said Phil Brake, P.E., Northeast Division President for HNTB. “His rich history in New Jersey and recent years in New York will be crucial to ensuring that we maximize the full potential of both offices in delivering success for the significant transit and transportation clients in the region.”

Dilts has nearly two decades of local, state, and federal experience in the transportation and transit field. His background encompasses 10 years as a public official, including serving as Chairman of New Jersey Transit, Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and Chairman and Deputy Executive Director of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. Dilts joined HNTB in 2014 and became the New Jersey Office Leader in early 2015.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Fels Institute of Government with a master's degree in governmental administration, Dilts also holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Boston University.

Dilts is a member of and former President of the Intelligent Transportation Society of New Jersey, he is formerly an executive committee member of the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey, and he is a member of the Regional Plan Association New Jersey Committee and the Women's Transportation Seminar.
