Pavement Expert Roshani Joins LAN as Project Manager

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Planning, engineering and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) has hired pavement expert Hossein Roshani, Ph.D., PE, as a Project Manager. Based out of San Antonio, he will be responsible for all pavement design, preservation and rehabilitation projects, serving clients firmwide.

Roshani has nearly 10 years of experience in pavement materials, design and management. His expertise also includes preservation techniques, transportation infrastructure asset management, as well as street rehabilitation project management.

Previously, he served the City of San Antonio in the Transportation & Capital Improvements department where he was responsible for developing and planning a $550-million, five-year infrastructure maintenance program. Prior to that, he worked at the Center for Transportation Research at the University of Texas at Austin.

Roshani holds a doctorate in civil engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a master’s degree in road and transportation engineering from the University of Guilan, Iran. He is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, where he serves as a member of its highway construction committee. He is also a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, Texas Society of Professional Engineers and the American Concrete Institute.

Roshani has published numerous white papers, articles and reports on pavement-related topics in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Transportation Research Board, ASCE Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, ASCE Journal of Transportation, Journal of Road Materials and Pavement Design, Journal of Applied Energy and the Journal of Construction and Building Materials. He also serves as a reviewer for several journals.
