TxDOT Promotes Ramthun to Design Division Director

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced the appointment of Marisabel Z. Ramthun, PE, as Director of the Design Division. In her new role, Ramthun will oversee the statewide activities for project development from conception to final PS&E processing for construction bidding.
Ramthun is a 1996 graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus with a degree in electrical engineering. She joined the department in 1998 as an Engineering Assistant for the Waco District in the Belton Area Office. In 2002, she transferred to the Austin District's Advanced Project Development section. She then went to work in the Georgetown Area Office managing construction projects.
She has held several leadership positions in the Austin district including Burnet Area Office Assistant Area Engineer, Austin District Advanced Project Development Director, and most recently as the Austin District Director of Transportation Planning and Development where she oversees $10 billion in project development. She is also a graduate of TxDOT's Leadership One and WTS International Mid-Career Signature Leadership Training.
