OMAHA, NE — Steve Vo, Electrical Division Manager at PEC, was awarded the Architectural Engineering 2022 MAE Industry Mentor Award at the Durham School's 17th Annual Architectural Engineering Awards & Recognition Banquet.

This award recognizes a distinguished mentor to the students participating in the AEI competition at the University of Nebraska. Nominees are submitted by the students in the program and are then selected by project teams associated with this project at the University of Nebraska - Omaha.

The PEC team was chosen to be the first-ever volunteers allowed to mentor remotely, which speaks to the level of impact Vo had on the students he mentored.

“This award shows Steve's dedication to leading the way and leading the next generation of great engineers,” said Kelby Ewert, who attended the event with Vo.

Vo graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering and has been with PEC since 2003. He is also a part of the following professional societies/associations: National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying and Illuminating Society of North America.

Vo is a Professional Engineer in the states of Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont, and Wyoming.

PEC's comprehensive, multi-discipline staff holds Professional Engineering licenses in all 50 states. From PEC's locations in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Colorado, the company's work takes them across the nation and around the world to design an increasing variety of projects from highways to hospitals, water towers to wind turbines, stadiums to sidewalks, and more. PEC offers specialty technical and construction field services, all available in one firm.
