ST. LOUIS, MO — Western Specialty Contractors hires Martin Bazula as a Senior Sales/Project Manager working with its Chicago Façade/Concrete and Indianapolis Branches.

Bazula brings more than 20 years of experience specializing in historic masonry and concrete restoration. In his new position, he will be responsible for overall restoration project safety, quality and affordability, as well as client satisfaction. His experience in historic, commercial, institutional, and industrial restoration sectors has provided him with a vast skill set to assist Western's clients with historic repair, project approach, scheduling, budgeting, coordination, and constructability recommendations.

“Martin thrives on working closely with engineers, owners, and architects from the earliest development stage of the project through the design phase and successful completion,” said Justin Berndt, Western Specialty Contractors Regional Operations Manager. “Client recommendations are the trademark of successful projects completed with professionalism, ethics, and a 'winning' team mentality.”

Prior to Western, Bazula worked as a Senior Project Manager for Berglund Construction - Restoration Division and as a Historic/Commercial Masonry Restoration Manager for STRUCTUAL Preservation Systems, both in Chicago. He also spent a total of 16 years as a Project Estimator/Manager for Marion Restoration and Bral Restoration.

Notable restoration portfolio projects during his career include the Ford Motor Building, Indiana World War Memorial, Art Institute of Chicago, University of Chicago - Oriental Institute, and Brown County Courthouse.

“My passion is masonry restoration, but more precisely historic masonry restoration,” Bazula said. “Over the past 20 years, I have successfully completed and have been a part of many iconic projects that I am extremely proud of.”

He has a bachelor's degree in business law/sociology from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois, and is a member of the Sealant, Waterproofing, and Restoration Institute, Illinois Landmarks, and Indiana Landmarks.
